Process
First, you will be assigned to a team of four.
Second, your team will then need to decide on which job each person will perform. In your discussion, consider everybody's interests and be willing to compromise. Below are the descriptions of each job.
Local News Reporter: This reporter will write a report on any local happenings that are currently going on in our school.
Entertainment Reporter: This reporter will write a report on any upcoming activities that the school has on the calendar, such as assemblies, field trips, and performances.
Sports Reporter: This reporter will write a report on physical education activities, such as, sports programs, recess play, health, and PE class.
Life Reporter: This reporter will interview and write a report on someone from the class or a staff member of the school. Highlight important events to create an interesting story on the person's life.

Third, click on the planning page button, print each person a copy, then brainstorm and write down topics or people that are of interest to you or to your school. Choose one of the topics or people from your list to write about.
Fourth, gather information by interviewing people, reading the school web site, particpating in the activity, research the topic, or create a survey that is relevant to your story. Click the link below for more helpful tips.
Fifth, using the writing process write a report and then submit all copies to the EDITOR for a final teacher edit. When your report is returned, look it over, and fix any editing that has been made to your story.
Finally, using Publisher, your group of four will create a newsletter. The newsletter will consist of all reports, pictures, captions, and headings.
